今日は Hiro-さん,
when it comes to nutrition I know what you speak about. When we went to Japan late in summer for three weeks this year I was very worried – usually non eating fish at all Fortunately, the Japanese kitchen is very versatile offering chicken, beef (Hida!!), … And I got also used to fish, especially fatty tuna, salmon, eal, … – I thing that I didn’t manage during my 6-month-stay at Naples, Italy. But an original Japanese breakfast, served in the ryokan or even in the mountain huts, still remained special: fish and rice for breakfast?
We had a very good time over there and the kitchen was very delicious but you cannot imagine the happiness we felt having German breakfast with fresh rolls and coffee the morning after we returned to Frankfurt and stayed at a friend’s of mine. Sleeping in a ‘real’ bed was a pleasure, too ;-))
Btw, in which phase you think your are and how long do you plan to stay in Germany? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Culture_shock
Ah… I don’t want forget to mention all the “German bakery” stores in Tokyo. What is it with them? They offer hardly anything typical German or does anyone here has something similar to a hotdog for breakfast ;-)?
Hiro-さん, have you btw ever been to デュッセルドルフ? I think there you can really enjoy authentic Japanese food and get all the things you miss!
よろしくお願いします
